REA Updates
To download the REA Update and view the installation instructions, first, check which version of REA 9 you currently have. To find out which version you are currently running, in REA 9, click on Help and select About REA 9.
The links below will open the instructions for updating which also includes a link to download the update. Please be sure to read the installation instructions. Below is an explanation of the different types of REA systems.
Single User Systems and SQL Server Machine
A single user system has both the REA program and the SQL database installed on its C drive. All single user installations need to download REA9-9.12.2‐Complete.exe. Make sure you update the SQL Server on your machine when asked during the install.
Multi-User Systems
Shared systems (two or more people using the same REA database) require one machine to be the SQL server while the other machines are workstations. The machine acting as the SQL server must update using REA9‐12.2‐Complete.exe and make sure to update the SQL Server.
The other machines are considered workstations and should update using the REA9‐12.2‐Workstation.exe. This update does not include the SQL engine. Workstations can use the Complete version of the update but should answer NO when asked if they want to install SQL Express.
Single User or Network Server Update
